Where the courts are
Pirton Tennis Club sits on the recreation ground in Pirton, a village a few minutes north-west of Hitchin in the SG5 3FS postcode district. There are two courts, both floodlit, which is what makes coaching through the autumn and winter evenings possible rather than being stuck with summer daylight.
There is parking at the recreation ground and the courts are a short walk from the village centre. If you are driving over from Hitchin, Holwell or Ickleford it is a short trip out; from Luton or Letchworth it is a little further but still comfortable.
You don't have to be a club member
This is the question Olga gets asked most. Booking a lesson with her is a separate arrangement from club membership, so you are welcome to come and be coached at Pirton whether or not you have joined the club.
That said, if you enjoy it and want to play regularly between lessons, joining is usually the sensible next step, and the club handles that side of things directly.
Who Olga coaches at Pirton
Over sixteen years at the club she has worked with most of it: juniors having their first lessons, adults picking the game back up after a long gap, and club players who want to tidy up a serve or a backhand that has quietly gone wrong. These days a good share of her week is small groups of club players doing exactly that.
Sessions are one-to-one or in small groups. Group lessons work out cheaper per player, so a few friends booking together is a popular way to do it.
