Starting from scratch
Most children who come to Olga have never played. The first few sessions are about racket contact and confidence rather than technique — getting a child to the point where they can rally a few balls back and feel like they are actually playing tennis, because that is what makes them want to come back.
Technique comes after that, and it comes gradually. Olga is unhurried about it. Children who are pushed into a full technical rebuild in week two tend to stop enjoying it.
For juniors who are already competing
At the other end, Olga spent ten years as Head Coach at the St Petersburg Tennis Academy, where she coached players in the Russian Under-14s national team and took five of them to St Petersburg Under-14 championship titles.
So if your child is playing county or club competition and needs technical and tactical work rather than encouragement, that is well within what she does. She has also completed ITF World Tennis Number training, which is the rating system junior competition now runs on.

Where and how much
Lessons are mainly at Pirton Tennis Club near Hitchin, on two floodlit courts, and your child does not need to be a club member. Olga also travels around forty-five minutes from Wheathampstead, so she can coach at your own club or court instead.
One-to-one lessons are £40 an hour. Siblings or small groups of friends work out cheaper per child, and are often more fun at younger ages — see prices.
